We are pleased to announce the release of the final Vintage 2024 Population Estimates for Texas. Our population estimates include data for counties and places for July 1 of each year from 2021 through 2024, as well as for January 1, 2025.
Texas Demographic Center released today its updated county-level population projections. The data provides detailed projections of Texas' residential population by age, sex, and race/ethnicity for each year from 2020 to 2060 across all counties in Texas. These projections will be available under multiple migration scenarios.
The Texas Demographic Center’s new population projections show Texas could reach 42.6 million residents by 2060,driven mainly by migration as birth rates decline. Dr. Helen You noted that future growth will depend on migration, with most increases concentrated in major metro areas.
